MILKOTUNE is a unit for milk standardization for continuous, in-line processing after the milk skimming separator. It has been designed by HAUS for the dairy industry, specifically for regulating the fat content in milk and cream. The purpose of the standardization of milk is: to produce milk with a fat content precisely according to the market and regulatory demands. MILKOTUNE detects how much cream is necessary to add to the skimmed milk to obtain the desired final value of fat in the milk, and subsequently executes a precise dosage of the necessary cream amount, provides high savings in the long term. MILKOTUNE is additionally able to set and keep stable the fat content in the cream processed by the separator.
Thanks to the automatic flow equipment on it, MILKOTUNE compensates for flow fluctuations and ensures stable operation of separator. Double instrumentation is installed to measure flow and density of skimmed milk and cream, knowing the actual fat concentrations and making possible a precise standardization, despite any fluctuation in the raw milk quality and the separation skimming efficiency. MILKOTUNE takes into account the solid discharge operations of the separator, keeps the oil content calculations constant and performs high precision operation.
MILKOTUNE operating mode settings can be selected for multiple working purpose.
Standardization Mode: to obtain a milk with required fat content, by adding cream to skimmed milk.
Skimming Mode: to regulate the fat content in the cream processed by the separator.
Separation Only Mode: to work by-passing the unit after the separator.
CIP mode: an automatic valve synchronization to make effective cleaning and preserve high hygiene.
The operating mode, concentration setpoints, operating parameters, alarms and automatic CIP sequence can be selected from the touch panel. The physical data measured from the instrumentation are converted into fat concentration of both cream and milk, thanks to proprietary software and expert database.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The skimming separator discharges skimmed milk and cream in two separate lines that are connected to the standardization unit.
The instruments make a reading of flow magnitude and density, and the values are transmitted to the PLC which is able to calculate the actual fat concentration of the skimmed milk and the cream. The unit is subsequently able to dose into the milk the quantity of cream necessary to reach the requested level of fat in the milk (standardization). The unit is also able to regulate – within a certain range - the content of fat in the cream processed by the separator (concentration), thanks to an automatic modulating valve, piloted by the PLC. Other automatic valves compensate any flow fluctuation, making the separator work stable. The requested values of concentration can be easily set by the operator on the screen of the PLC, together with other optimizing parameters.
