Raschig ring (RING -R) is used for filling work volume of packed columns and devices. It is aimed at increasing intensity of heat exchange and mass-transfer processes in chemical, petrochemical, oil-refining equipment, etc. R-Ring is also to be used in sewage and water supply systems, in ammonia and mineral fertilizers production. Raschig rings refer to random packing. Their surface is 30% larger than that of cylinders and balls. R-Rings can be made of carbon steel, stainless steel, polypropylene, PVC, PVDF, ceramics, etc. Acid-resistant ceramic packing material is used for filling packed columns of other mass transfer equipment which works at the temperature not higher than 120 Celsius degree in acid environment.
