Molecular sieve 3A, zeolit 3A, molecular sieve desiccant.
Molecular sieve 3A has effective pore opening around 3 angstroms (0,3 Nm). This is large enough to allow moisture to pass through, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons that can potentially form polymers; and this increases the service life of dehydration of such molecules
Typical chemical formula: 0.4K2O 0.6Na2O Al2O3 2.OSiO2 4.5H2O SiO2 : Al2O3 ≈2.
Application: drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons (eg ethylene, propylene, butadiene), drying of cracked gas, drying of natural gas if COS minimization is required or minimum co-adsorption of hydrocarbons is required, drying of highly polar compounds such as methanol and ethanol, drying of liquid spur ) dehydration of double-glazed windows filled with air or gas, drying of refrigerants.
Molecular sieve of 3A type can be regenerated by heating in case of processes with thermal fluctuations, or lowering the pressure in case of pressure loss processes.
A temperature of 250-300°C is required to remove moisture from the 3A molecular sieve. A properly regenerated molecular sieve can produce moisture dew points below -100°C.
The outlet concentrations in the differential pressure process will depend on the gas present and the process conditions.
Dimensions: 13X-zeolites are available in the form of balls measuring 1-2 mm, (mesh 10x18) 2-3 mm, (mesh 8x12), 2.5-5 mm, (mesh 4x8) and in powder form, as well as in granules of 1.6"", 3.2"".
Attention: to avoid dampness and pre-adsorption of organic substances before starting, they must be reactivated.
