Membranesare the element most susceptible to wear and pressure during the suction and delivery of the reagent, during these processes the membranes must withstand powerful chemical attack and high temperatures. As a consequence, correct membrane assessment and selection is of paramount importance for the longevity of its service, optimizing investment decisions and operating costs.
Thanks to state-of-the-art R&D business, self-administered tensile strength tests and in-depth analysis of the results,DEBEM has developed a new generation of durable membranes "LONG LIFE", whose shape and size provide the largest working surface and improved load transfer, which minimizes structural pressure and wear.
The membranes are made of rubber components with special additives that improve the chemical properties as well as the mechanical characteristics of flexibility and strength. On the back of the membranes there is a nylon fabric that improves the distribution of loads:
NBR:inexpensive and especially suitable for pumping liquids containing oil and oils;
EPDM:good acid resistance, high resistance to alkaline media and wear, and good flexibility even at low temperatures.
These membranes are made of thermoplastic polymers, which provide high resistance to stress and their optimal distribution:
HYTREL(thermoplastic elastomer): good wear resistance; suitability for handling food materials.
SANTOPRENE:excellent acid and alkaline resistance, high flexural strength and good wear resistance.
PTFE known for its excellent resistance to high temperatures, chemicals and corrosive agents. DEBEM PTFE diaphragms are double heat treated in order to increase their flexibility and service life. To verify performance, each batch of membranes is tested for tensile strength. This type of membrane can be combined with the above types to increase resistance to liquid corrosive chemicals and high temperatures.
