Acids in industry are classified as chemicals of increased aggressiveness. It is this factor that determines the main features of acid pumps. Special requirements are imposed on the design of the equipment, as well as the materials from which the flow part of the pump is made.
Chemical pumps are equipment designed for pumping media containing acids in different concentrations under specified conditions. When choosing the unit to be used for pumping acid, it is important to pay attention to whether a particular model is designed for long-term contact with a sufficiently active medium. Equipment of this type is often made of stainless steel, which does not corrode under the influence of chemicals, polyvinyl fluoride, polypropylene and not only. All seals of industrial equipment, its moving elements, guides can be manufactured:
- made of chemically resistant polymers;
- ceramic materials;
- corrosion-resistant metal alloys
- complex rubber compounds and not only.
Features of acid pumping pumps
In each specific case, the equipment is selected taking into account the most suitable chemical compatibility with the pumped medium. When working with specific acids, it is important to use the technique that is most suitable for solving the task. For example, polypropylene is resistant to acids of inorganic nature, but it is completely unsuitable for working with nitric acid. At the same time, polyvinyldenafluoride is compatible with nitric acid, but cannot be in contact with acetic acid and others for a long time.
Acid pumping
The materials from which the flow parts of acid pumps are made also have specific requirements for the temperature regime. Some models can work only at low temperatures, others demonstrate resistance to deformation when pumping hot media containing acids in different concentrations.
The chemical pump must be selected according to the configuration in order to guarantee high productivity of processes at the enterprise, optimize the costs of consumables, eliminate frequent repairs of equipment.
